Prostatitis is inflammation of the prostate (prostate) in men. According to statistics, this is the most common urological disease in the age group from 25 to 50 years. The main causes of the disease can be divided into two groups: infectious and non-infectious. In most of the reported cases, the causes of prostatitis are specifically non-infectious.

Many factors are involved in the development of the disease: smoking, hypothermia, regular alcohol consumption, sedentary lifestyle, infections of the genital tract, which eventually spread to the prostate. It can also negatively affect prostate and tight underwear health, allergic reactions, trauma, severe stress, constipation, and prolonged urinary retention.

The impetus for the manifestation of the disease is usually low sexual activity or long abstinence. Because of all these factors, hormonal changes occur, blood flow to the pelvic organs is disturbed, and lymph stagnation occurs. This in turn lowers the immune system, which makes the prostate very susceptible to infection and viruses.

Prostatitis can be divided into three forms: infectious, acute and chronic.

The causes of the infectious form can be different types of bacteria, viruses, fungi and Trichomonas. As a rule, the development of infectious prostatitis occurs due to the penetration of sexually transmitted infections into the prostate. Most often these are infections such as chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea or trichomoniasis. If the infection reaches the prostate from the urinary canals and bladder via the lymphatic or blood vessels of the pelvis, it affects the blood supply to the prostate and leads to constipation or (very rarely) blood poisoning. But it does not always cause inflammation to develop - this requires the above factors, without which the disease may not manifest itself.

The acute form of prostatitis is the main cause of unpleasant and painful sensations when using the toilet. Often the patient also has a fever (up to 40 degrees), chills, malaise and pain in the perineum. In the acute form, prostate edema occurs, which disrupts normal urination. At the first symptoms, you should immediately make an appointment with a urologist, as delays in treatment can lead to the transformation of the disease into a chronic form. At the same time, with acute prostatitis, the chances of a full recovery are almost always high, although complex treatment is required. It usually includes antiviral drugs, ultrasound, physical therapy, reflexology, and prostate massage.

The chronic form of prostatitis develops 3-6 months after the onset of the acute form, if no treatment has been carried out. In this form, the disease can remain invisible for a long time, but exacerbations are possible under certain conditions. The danger of prostatitis is that it can bring with it other, much more uncomfortable diseases: vesiculitis, fibrosis, inflammation of the limbs and then erectile dysfunction (impotence) and, as a result, infertility.

Treatment of prostatitis with folk remedies

Prostatitis in acute form or with complications is treated only in a hospital under medical supervision. They perform a full diagnosis, PCR, uroflowmetry, perform blood and urine tests and detect the presence of viruses or dangerous bacteria. And only then, depending on the established reasons, antibiotics, immunostimulants, lasers and physiotherapy are prescribed. Surgery may also be required in severe cases.

Treatment of prostatitis at home is effective only if there are no complications or if the chronic form relapses. As a rule, folk remedies for prostatitis are developed to relieve pain, increase immunity and eliminate pelvic edema.

Squats for prostatitis

If the cause of prostatitis is inflammation (rather than a bacterial infection), chances are the disease is caused by a violation of the blood supply to the pelvis, which affects both the prostate and the muscles around it. And there's no better way to restore blood flow than doing a regular squat. Test yourself first: straighten your arms, raise them above your head, and do as many squats as you can.

These should be deep squats "to the end, " that is, so that the pelvis does not stay at knee level and the upper body does not lean forward, creating the illusion of performing the exercise. If you can do this exercise 80-100 times, you have a good chance of recovery. If you develop leg and pelvic pain quickly, it is a sure sign of both leg muscle weakness and problems with blood flow to the prostate and other pelvic organs.

You cannot do this exercise every day, limit yourself to 3 times a week. If you can't sit down 80 times, try breaking the execution down into several approaches: 4 times 20 times, 2 times 40, or 50 times. For maximum efficiency, the break should not be very long - 3-5 minutes.

Also, try to complement squats with other exercises:

  • Raise your legs while lying on your stomach (about 20 times per approach), but you shouldn't do this exercise 100 times to avoid overexertion.
  • Make a "pair of scissors": sit on the floor, find support for your hands behind your back, raise your legs in the air and cross them, alternating left and right up. Do not overexert yourself with this exercise either.

Along with squats, these exercises should be done a total of 100-150 times - then home treatment for prostatitis will be most effective and medication may not be required.

Other exercises for prostatitis

  1. Lie on your back, bend your legs, and then lay them on top of you - your knees should reach your face. Lie down with your arms around your legs for 3-20 minutes. This exercise for treating prostatitis will also be very effective, but you should be very patient. And the longer you can lie in this position, the better. But don't overdo it! We strongly advise against more than 20 minutes at a time.
  2. Perineal massage is also one of the most effective exercises for prostatitis. Do it in the morning right after you sleep to relieve the congestion of the prostate.
  3. Another effective exercise is done right before morning meal. Stand to your full height, bring your legs together, and do a third of your normal squat. Freeze in this position, moving your knees forward, one at a time: left, then right. Do this exercise for 5 minutes. You can repeat the same thing in the evening. This is quite a complicated method and may not be easy. However, if you do them regularly, you will get used to it and not only cure prostatitis but also perform its regular prophylaxis.

Pumpkin seeds for prostatitis

Pumpkin seeds have long been popular in the treatment of prostatitis. This is a very powerful, and at the same time affordable and inexpensive folk remedy. They contain a large amount of zinc, which is necessary for a man of all ages - its daily portion is contained in just 30 seeds. Just eat dried seeds before meals every day and you will see improvement quickly.

Another option is to peel a pound of seeds and pass them through a meat grinder. The main thing is that they are not fried, otherwise you will not get the desired effect. Add 200-250 grams of honey and stir. From the resulting mass, make small balls, no less than a hazelnut. Keep these balls in the refrigerator and lay them out a few days in advance before use.

Eat these balls one after the other half an hour before meals twice a day. But don't swallow it quickly, chew it slowly for a few minutes. As a rule, such treatment is very effective, and one course per year is enough to prevent relapses.

Treatment of prostatitis with hazel

To prepare this product you will need either bark or leaves - both are equally effective. You can even use them individually, but it is advisable not to mix them together. It's also important to keep in mind that it takes twice as long to brew the bark.

Brew 1 tablespoon of the product in 1 cup of boiling water, cover with a lid and leave for half an hour. Then strain and drink a quarter of a glass four times a day. For brewing, you can use both fresh and brewed 1-2 times, although fresh is of course more effective. This remedy usually helps relieve symptoms of prostatitis within a week.

Aspen bark from prostatitis

Aspen bark is just as effective against prostatitis as hazel bark and leaves. To do this, the aspen bark must be collected before the sap begins to flow, before the buds and leaves begin to bloom. This usually happens in mid-April. The thickness of the bark can be any, but preferably from 3 mm.

The bark should be dried a little in the shade or in the oven, then take 100 grams, grind and pour into a 0. 5 liter jar. The rind is poured with 200 grams of vodka, but so that it completely covers it. Then the jar should be tightly closed and brewed in a dark place for 2 weeks. Then strain the tincture through a cheesecloth or sieve.

An infusion of 20 drops per quarter glass of water is used three times a day before meals. The aspen tincture obtained is usually sufficient for about 2 months.

Treatment of prostatitis with wormwood

Wormwood is a wonderful remedy for almost any inflammation in the genital tract as it is very effective at killing a purulent infection. A complete remedy can be made from just 100 grams of dry wormwood. It must be carefully chopped and sifted through a kitchen colander. The herb that passed it is suitable for absorption in dry form - dry wormwood, due to its strong bitterness, has a cleansing effect on the body and kills all kinds of infectious agents and parasites.

How is wormwood treated? The algorithm is simple:

  • First of all, for the first 3 days, you need to swallow a pinch of dry, shredded grass and wash it off with water. This must be done every 2-3 hours, including at night. It doesn't matter if you do it before or after you eat. It is very important that you are not able to take a break for the night during these first 3 days. This is quite a difficult procedure, also due to the difficulty of swallowing the bitter herb. However, such a course will help you not only in the fight against prostatitis, but also with other infections.
  • In the second stage, it is necessary to drink wormwood 5-6 times a day, 4 days in a row, taking breaks only for the night.

You must follow a strict diet during this course. Otherwise, the strength of the treatment can be significantly reduced.

  • It is advisable to exclude bread or reduce its amount to 200 grams, but not fresh, but time to "lie down" a little;
  • Remove meat, fish, sausages, eggs, sweets, cheese and other dairy products from the diet;
  • Be sure to exclude alcohol and tobacco.
  • At the same time, you can freely use a variety of grains, nuts, fruits and sunflower oil.

Latent discomfort, joint pain and general weakness may worsen during the course.

Parsley for prostatitis

Parsley is an extremely healthy plant with many medicinal properties. In particular, this includes the ability to stop inflammation and normalize the functions of the genital organs. We use parsley in cooking because of its great taste, but it is actually a powerful medicinal herb and contains many useful trace elements and vitamins.

For example, 100 grams of parsley contains the daily need for vitamin A, which makes parsley very beneficial for eyesight. At the same time, the vitamin C content is many times higher than that of lemons. Parsley also contains inulin (natural insulin), which effectively regulates blood sugar levels and has a positive effect on the intestines.

To fight prostatitis, you need to drink a tablespoon of parsley juice for half an hour three times a day before meals. You can also use chopped parsley seeds: pour a glass of boiling water over them and simmer for 15 minutes. Take the broth 5-6 times a day for a tablespoon.

Treatment of prostatitis with herbs

Herbal medicine for prostatitis is a very old and proven remedy. For centuries, the recipes used in folk medicine have come to us practically unchanged. We have listed the most effective of these recipes below:

  • Squeeze the celandine juice from the freshly picked stem and mix it with alcohol in proportions 1 to 1. Take the infusion in the morning before breakfast. For the first time - one drop of infusion per 50 grams of water, and then gradually increase the dosage so that by the end of the month there are already 30 drops.
  • Another recipe for the parsley treatment: add the cranberry, hawthorn and valerian root. Plants should be chopped and mixed, and then filled with a glass of boiling water. Then you need to strain the solution through a cheesecloth and take half a glass twice a day. This infusion is very effective in the infectious form of prostatitis.
  • To treat prostatitis with cloves, grind the dried plant and pour a glass of boiling water over it. Then everything is done as in the previous recipe: filter the tincture through a cheesecloth and use half a glass.
  • Radiola Pink is extremely effective against chronic prostatitis. You should pour a glass of boiling water over a tablespoon of the grated roots of this plant and let it steep for an hour. Then the tincture is filtered for half a glass 2 per day (usually before breakfast and dinner).

It is important to know that herbal treatment usually takes much longer than treatment with other methods, including medication. Usually the course lasts from one month to six. However, the advantage of herbal treatment for prostatitis is usually that it is very effective in combating not only the symptoms, but also the causes of the disease, which are usually not visible. In addition, herbs rarely have side effects unless you have allergies, and remedies based on different herbs can easily be combined.

It's also important to remember: if you are using alcoholic tinctures, it is not advisable to consume them on an empty stomach, especially if you have gastrointestinal problems.

Prevention of prostatitis

Prevention is always easier and more profitable than curing later. Therefore, you should know some simple secrets that will help avoid the development and complications of prostatitis:

  • Try not to sit down for long periods of time, especially in an uncomfortable position.
  • Avoid hypothermia, especially in the pelvic area.
  • Also, avoid constipation and urinary retention - they greatly contribute to the development of this disease.

Regular physical activity, which helps improve blood flow to the pelvic organs, is also a very good preventive measure. A correct, well-oiled diet also helps. It should be noted that with these points you can avoid many diseases that wait for a person after 30 years.
